Summer days are here at last! There’s something about the warmer weather and the longer days that just has us wanting to get out and do more, so we’ve rounded up some of our favourite this to do in and around Calgary during the summer!
Canada Day Celebrations!
From Princes Island Park to Fort Calgary, our city does Canada Day celebrations right! There are so many amazing events happening in the city (Like our friends at Market Spot’s block party!), and the best part - these family friendly events are free! End the night with fireworks over the Bow River and keep the memories to last you through the rest of summer!
Calgary Folk Fest
Can’t stop the music! And with great music from the Strumbellas and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Sheila E, why would you want to? Calgary Folk Fest is a highlight of the summer for us here at the Woman’s Show with their jam-packed schedule, food trucks, beer garden and perfect location – you’re not gonna want to miss it. Plus the organizers are really great and gave us a promo code just for our Woman’s Show fans. Use code CFMF4WOMANSSHOW to save 15% on your Adult Ticket!
Cobbs Adventure Park
Who doesn’t want the opportunity to hang out with some Kangaroos? That and so much more is included in your admission to Cobbs Adventure Park. But they’ve also got Three Little Pigs, Wallabies and tons of games, to fill your day with fun for the whole family!
Spend some time along the Bow River
In any and every way you can. Grab (or rent!) your life-jacket, some friends and a raft and float on down the river for a lazy Sunday float. If you’re not a float the river kind of person, just grab some friends and picnic basket and enjoy it from afar because there’s something peaceful about the sounds of the water.
Beat the inevitable heat in a Museum
There’s definitely going to be at least one week where it’s too hot, or too smoky, to be outside. It’s these days when all the beautiful museums come in to play. The summer brings new exhibits to the city; influential artist Nick Cave's first solo Canadian exhibit opens at the Glenbow June 29th. The National Music Centre will feature a temporary exhibit on Corey Hart and you don't want to miss the Women in Sport at Canada's Sports Hall of Fame! Whatever you do, stay cool on the dog days of summer!
Heritage Park – SS Moyie
The SS Moyie is back in business after a year off and we can not wait to get back on for a Captain’s Cruise along the beautiful Glenmore Reservoir! Take in views of the Rocky Mountains while you sip some wine and enoy they gourmet hors d'oeurvres. This unique event makes a perfect date night (or girls night!) you won't soon forget!
